In San Jose, Costa Rica, there's a very special event, that happens around 5 times a year, where the art takes the city, called Art City Tour. During this event, all the museums are open and free until late night, and there's a lot of music, art performances, theatre, and a lot of different thing going on for one night.
In 2017, at Pulse, we designed an art installation to be used during one of those Art City Tours, inside the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, one of the most iconic museums of the country, not only for the contend, but also for the beautiful arquitecture it has, being a subterranean pyramid.
We wanted to create something that invite people from all ages to play, but to play together, so we choose to use the seesaw game to be the way to bring fun to the city.
I designed a seesaw that will glow everytime it was moved, and at that very same time, a musical note will be played and a particle with the color of the seesaw will appear in the wall and travel to the ceiling, creating a whole musical and visual experience, created by people playing.
